METRO GROUP EU representative office in Brussels

Image: EU parliament BrusselsIn 2005, METRO GROUP became the first German retail and wholesale company to open its own representative office in Brussels. Its objective is to ensure that the industry’s expertise and concerns are included in the political discourse. Through a regular dialogue with representatives of the Commission, the Council and the European Parliament, the company works closely with the German Retail Federation (Hauptverband des Deutschen Einzelhandels/HDE) and the European retail, wholesale and international trade federation, EuroCommerce. METRO GROUP is also the only German retail and wholesale company that is a member of the European Retail Round Table (Link to external page:www.errt.org).

International representative offices facilitate local dialogue

METRO GROUP maintains international representative offices in those countries where it has at least two active sales divisions and a strategic interest in expanding. Currently, these offices facilitate early recognition of major changes and issues and ensure timely positioning in Poland, Romania, Russia and Turkey.
