Effective from January 1, 2011, Horst Norberg and Dr. Rolf Hagemann will jointly manage the European market leader in electrical goods retail: Horst Norberg as Chairman of the Management Board of Media-Saturn will focus on sales issues while Dr. Rolf Hagemann as Vice Chairman will continue to hold responsibility for finance. The contract of Roland Weise, CEO of Media-Saturn-Holding, will not be extended. Roland Weise will resign from office at the end of the year. The company is now testing a new and completely different sales channel with its Saturn Xpress automated retail shops. As the name suggests, the automated stores offer a fast and easy way of shopping "in passing" or "in transit". Customers can find Saturn's first automated shops at Düsseldorf airport, where it has been in operation since Friday, 14 January 2011. It is planned that a total of 11 automated shops be installed at busy locations, such as airports, train stations and shopping centers, within the framework of the pilot project.
